Jakob Wolsing, 52, is a father of two and fixed income dealer from Virum, Denmark, who was diagnosed with MS in 2007.
He said he enjoys the "freedom and the challenge with the wind and sea" that sailing presents.
Asked what he is most looking forward to about his participation in the Oceans of Hope voyage, he said: "To experience the surroundings, sea, sky, waves, the coast and to see how I will react and behave on a long trip at sea."
