Mikkel Anthonisen
Founder, doctor and skipper
Founder, project leader and part-time crew Anthonisen, 48, is a specialist at Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet. He has been a doctor for 14 years and from the ages of 19–23, he took jobs on boats sailing all over the world. A doctor, psychotherapist and sailor, he realised the power of involvement in sailing after meeting a patient early in 2013 and began building the dream of sailing around the world with people living with the disease.
For the last four years he has been treating people with multiple sclerosis, and he founded the Sailing Sclerosis Foundation to inspire people with MS to realise that they still have potential to achieve great things by living in the moment.
