René
Crew
René comes from a small village near the sea and he has previously sailed with friends sometimes frequently, sometimes occasionally.
He went to College in Amsterdam and then went to work at an energy company.
After finishing his studies and having had his first work experiences, he went to live and work in Brussels, which is where he had his first MS attack some 10 years ago.
René suddenly noticed that the toes of his right foot didn't move and he was not able to lift his leg. It was then assumed to be a hernia and the GP scheduled surgery.
A few days before the operation was planned, René was able to move freely again, and then he canceled the operation. Later other symptoms followed such as double vision and abnormal experiences in his arms and legs.
René is looking forward to sailing as a crewmember onboard Oceans of Hope and says, "I am proud of being part of this great project!"
