Vince Leccese

Crew

Vince, 51, was born in Dundee Scotland to an Italian father (motor mechanic) and a Scottish mother (midwife). He has two sisters, Diana & Marina and has been married to Karen Leccese for 24 happy years. They have three children and two grandchildren all living very close.

Vince was diagnosed with MS in January 2012 after which ensued "a very bad year", he says. "I was initially on Avonex injections which basically wrote off my weekend with flu like symptoms and work was becoming more and more difficult as I needed longer hours to complete my tasks. In the end I had to give up work. I am now on Gilenya orally and have my life back."

Vince moved to Australia in 2004 and is constantly seeking new adventures. He loves most sports especially skiing, soccer, rugby and golf. Last year he did the Mount Everest Base Camp trek and he now looks forward to his sailing adventure.

Over the years Vince has worked as a ski maker (Vielhaber) and has held positions in the London Metropolitan Police Force, the British Army (Electronic Engineer), IBM UK (Large Systems engineer then Management) and Toshiba Australia (State Manager EID).

His wife and family have been constantly fundraising for MS Australia over the last 3 years and have been in the top 100 fundraisers on the last 3 MS cycles. They also hold three to four BBQ a year for MS making around $2000-$3000.
