Oceans of Hope open to the public in Lisbon
Last chance to visit Oceans of Hope in Portugal!
The yacht is open to the public to visit until midday and then from 4pm-6pm at Marina Parque das Nações, Lisbon. There's no cost to visit and there are free shuttle buses running from the Vasco da Gama shopping mall to the marina during boat opening hours, so come and get on board!
Yesterday afternoon guests of our Official Partner, Biogen Idec, went sailing on board the 20-metre yacht that is undertaking the first circumnavigation of the world with a crew including people with MS.
Today three more crew are due to arrive ahead of Oceans of Hope's first transatlantic crossing to Boston USA. Mikkel Farver, Jens Thomsen and Jacob Wolsing from Denmark will join Tine Perlt and Luisa Matias in Lisbon to prepare for the next stage of the global voyage which is already changing perceptions of MS.
Oceans of Hope will set sail from Lisbon at 10.15 on Saturday morning at the start of her voyage across the Atlantic to Boston, USA.
