Martin Shares a Quick Update with Bosun Bertram's Update in Tow

OoH Oct 29, 2014, by Martin Binderup Borre in Yacht

This must be the ultimate way of spending the autumn: the day time is loaded with sun and nature and (sometimes harsh!) sailing trips, and the evening with cozy games in the ship’s pantry, or a nice restaurant or swimming pool. Monday evening we dined in Essex, at the Griswold Inn, where a shanty-party was held with people dressed in costumes; Halloween is close now. Today’s sailing was primarily by motor since the wind was low, and we spent the time resting, talking and having sailor-school on the deck.

Report from Bosun Bertram:

We spent the night in Port Jefferson on Long Island, where we arrived yesterday afternoon after a nice day of sailing with too little wind but sunny. The crew had a chance to see the check out the local area and enjoy themselves before we had dinner on board. This morning we provisioned for another three days, and more importantly for the upcoming Halloween festivities. Let’s just say it will look like a floating pumpkin is passing by the city of New York as we make our way toward Atlantic City.

We left Port Jefferson early afternoon today with approximately 20 nautical miles to our destination further west - that being either this cozy little marina or the other. The course is due west on 270° with a speed of 6,3 knots by the main engine.

Local time onboard is 15:25 and our current position is 40°58'285N 73°12'791W

 Best,

Bertram
