Oceans of Hope to set sail from Copenhagen today
Oceans of Hope will depart from Amaliehaven, Copenhagen, today on the first ever circumnavigation by a crew of people with multiple sclerosis.
The free event begins at 1430 with activities on the quayside and Stine Sylvestersen, presenter of Lounge on TV2 Lorry will be interviewing organisers and some of the crew taking part.
The 20-metre yacht will set sail at the start of the 61,000-kilometre (33,000-nautical mile) voyage at 1630.
Members of the local sailing community are invited to accompany the yacht as she parades past Langelinie and the statue of the Little Mermaid, before turning to head out through Lynettenløbedt into Øresund.
Oceans of Hope will head north and pass Kronborg at Helsingør on the first stage of her global voyage and the first stopover in Kiel, Germany.
