Oceans of Hope will set sail from Amaliehaven, Copenhagen, Denmark, on 15 June 2014. It will be the first ever global circumnavigation by a yacht crewed by people with multiple sclerosis (MS).

The 61,000-kilometre (33,000-nautical mile) route will now take in Kiel (Germany), Portsmouth (UK), La Rochelle (France) and Lisbon (Portugal), from where the crew will set sail across the Atlantic Ocean to Boston (USA) and onwards in their inspirational round the world voyage.

The yacht, a 20-metre Challenge 67, is currently undergoing a comprehensive refit to prepare her for the voyage ahead and will be officially named Oceans of Hope at a ceremony at the Royal Danish Yacht Club on World MS Day, 28 May.

Berths are available on board for people from across the world to join the Danish crew who are already getting ready to set sail in a bid to change the perception of living with MS.

Application forms are available to download here.
