Sailing in Paradise - blog by Colleen

OoH Jan 31, 2015, by Colleen Fegan in Yacht

Hi, my name is Colleen, and I've been asked to do the blog today. At first I thought 'oh my' what shall I write? My second thought was 'please keep this reasonable as far as the number of times you use the word paradise.'

So we left the dock at Panama City, and chose one of any of a number of islands at which to spend the night. Mind you, spending the night doesn't mean tucking yourself in snugly. It's more of finding a beautiful crescent shaped cove that is our own, having a swim to a sandy beach and.then coming home to grilled onions over an individually grilled pork chop, courtesy of Kristian. He is one of the permanent crew members.  And of course Cliff tossed together a homemade apple sauce to accompany the fine entre! This was not the direction I had planned for this blog, it is just that food is so glorious at sea, plus it's time to sit around and enjoy the incredible camaraderie the team has developed with ease.

What I had intended to write about are the choices you have to make in said 'paradise.’ The skipper grabs the charts, looks at the electronics, and we set sail for a place that has outdone any of our wildest dreams, any of a hundred of courses he had chosen would certainly have been glorious. Excitedly, I had an opportunity to take the helm for a bit! What a beautiful machine is under your feet!

We are just a quick, windy ride away from the skyline of Panama City, five hours or so, yet in most ways a world away - dolphins, pelicans frigate birds...there is indeed oceans and oceans of hope here! Think about us, and join us. You will never be the same after having seen the moonrise from another part of the planet.
