My first night at Oceans of Hope was simply perfect - Blog by Jesús

OoH Oct 1, 2015, by Jesús Calderón in Yacht

Yesterday we left Salerno at noon. We sailed by the Amalfi Coast admiring all its small villages between mountains and cliffs.

Hours later, following the glowing sunset, we arrived at Naples Bay, an amazing Blood Moon rising in the East behind us. We were able to watch with great detail populations of the bay that gradually were lighting as advanced night.

On the bow we could enjoy with great detail fireworks exploding over Pozzuoli, on the starboard the Vesuvius silhouette and the lights of Naples and on port the wonderful island of Capri. My first night at Oceans of Hope was simply perfect.

Sharing special moments like this with my new companions, makes you forget difficult times you live with the MS and helps you trust that the future is worth to live. Thank you OOH!

Report from Bosun Josefine:

Our sailing from Salerno has been absolutely ideal. Wind of 12-15 knots from the aft has driven us forward yankee at a steady pace of 7 knots. Everyone has been involved in changing and setting sails. After a night with very strong winds we decided this morning to take shelter in Bonifacio, Corsica. We will continue our leg to Barcelona tonight.
