Crossing the 0 meridian - Report from Bosun Josefine

OoH Oct 14, 2015, by Josefine Lykke in Yacht

We have now been underway for over 24 hours. We are heading southwest and will soon pass Alicante. We just crossed the 0 meridian which we of course celebrated with a toast!

The wind is northeasterly, which is good. But there is not a lot of it. The engine keeps us up to speed accompanied by mainsail and/or yankee from time to time.

The new crew is slowly accommodating to their new surroundings. We had a rough first night with heavy thunder showers, strong winds and irregular swells which made it hard for everyone to sleep. Fortunately, the weather forecast for the next couple of days promises calm weather.

We expect to do our first stopover in Malaga on Friday.
