Copenhagen departure programme

The departure ceremony will take place at Amaliehaven, where the yacht will arrive to make final preparations at 1130. A blessing for the yacht and crew will be given at 1500 and the departure ceremony will begin at 1530. Oceans of Hope will cast off her lines for her historic voyage at 1630.

As well as the public event on the quayside, close to the fountain and steps in Amaliehaven, there will be great vantage points in Langelinie as the yacht sails past, and members of the sailing community are invited to come out on their boats to join the accompanying flotilla as Oceans of Hope bids farewell to Copenhagen.

Prior to the departure, on Thursday 12 June, there will be sessions for people with MS to come and try sailing. These will be held at 1500 and 1700 at the Kongelig Dansk Yachtklub (Royal Danish Yacht Club) in Tuborg Havn.
