Winter sunshine

Fort Lauderdale, 37 kilometres (23 miles) north of Miami, Florida, is famous for its beaches, arts, culture and events.

The city is a popular tourist destination, with an average year-round temperature of 77 degrees and an annual 3,000 hours of sunshine. Visitors enjoy everything from shopping on Las Olas Boulevard, to gondola rides on the canals, to a historic riverfront. 

It has a busy cruise ship terminal at Port Everglades and the greater Fort Lauderdale area has more than 4,000 restaurants to choose from, 63 golf courses, 16 museums and more than 45,000 boats are moored in the area’s 100 marinas.
