Half-way point

OoH Aug 19, 2014, by Jens Thomsen

Calm seas and sunny weather is what best describes the past two days. Heat has played a major factor on everybody on board as temperatures have made every move a challenging task. Despite a time schedule that we have focus on keeping in regards to our arrival in Boston in a few weeks, we take the privilege of another Atlantic Ocean swim. Crystal clear weather at over 28C - this is an adventure that is beyond expectations.

Also, it was time to celebrate the half-way point between Madeira and Bermuda with only 1,200 nm to go. Ironically the celebration was not much of a party. Everyone was fighting their own battle against the heat nature has thrown at them. On Wednesday the wind will pick up and we can make up some lost ground. We aim to arrive in Bermuda before a low pressure will challenge us again. However, if we cannot outrun it, we will sit it out and sail through it, which most likely will be a race against nature.

Fair wind and calm seas
