Bermuda - hello and goodbye

OoH Sep 3, 2014, by Mikkel Farver in Yacht

We are now on the Atlantic again, after some very interesting days in Bermuda.

In Bermuda we have met so many helpful and nice people. The Bermudians should be very proud of their way to treat visitors. They are so gentle, always with a “hello, how are you doing” and often a “love you and leave you” or if we looked a bit lost in the town, the local people just stopped up and asked us if they could be of any help.

We went to a very famous beach, the Horseshoe Bay beach which has been awarded as the seventh best beach in the world. And it was a VERY nice beach, where we enjoyed the sun, the water and played Frisbee.

For the most days, we stayed in the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club in Hamilton where we felt very welcome. Many people came and visited Oceans of Hope in the harbour – both local sailors who were interested in seeing our boat, and also many Bermudians with MS, came by to talk with us about our fantastic project.

And of course we enjoyed the weather – 35 degree Celsius almost every day.

Now we are, again, where we all think we belong – in the middle of the Atlantic, on our way to Boston. It is good to be back in our daily routines again, and we have been blessed with very good weather and wind today – perfect blue water sailing.  _/)
