"Welcomed with iced drinks"

OoH Aug 28, 2014, by Oceans of Hope News team in Yacht

After a night’s berth Oceans of Hope moved from St. Georges Harbour, Bermuda to a larger marina in Hamilton, the island’s capital.

The Bosun reported that, “Our first full day ashore was spent walking around the small town of St. Georges and connecting to the outside world with some well deserved Wi-Fi.  The crew had a chance to do some laundry and rest their minds before we took the boat to Hamilton, now that it was safe from the hurricane that had moved more North.”

It took just three hours of “beautiful sailing” around the beautiful northern coast of Bermuda to reach their new moorings in Hamilton.

The boat is now berthed at the Royal Bermudian Yacht Club.  Bertram described their arrival and the simple pleasured that awaited the Oceans of Hope.  He told us, “we were welcomed with iced drinks and good company on the dock. A real shower for the guys and then off for a crew dinner altogether.“

However, it was back to work this morning he added, “Today we are washing down the boat both inside and out before we plan to do some minor maintenance. We want the boat to look great for our newest crew member arriving tomorrow!”

Oceans of Hope is due to arrive in Boston on 8 September and will be moored at Rowes Wharf Marina. During the stopover there will be opportunities for people with MS to experience sailing in a series of ‘taster’ sails. Places are filling up quickly. Email us to register your interest and to reserve a place.
