Newcastle Sailing Day

OoH Jun 7, 2015, by Oceans of Hope News team in Yacht

During a brief stopover in Newcastle the Oceans of Hope team took some twenty local people who live with MS out for a taster sailing experience. We were very kindly hosted by the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club where both groups of guests also enjoyed a convivial lunch in between the action afloat. The morning group was rallied together by Oceans of Hope veteran Greg Pugh who resides in Newcastle and sailed onboard from Samoa to Sydney. The afternoon group was organised through MS Australia and the Hunter Medical Research Institute. Adding to a very successful day for everyone involved, the local TV news team, NBN TV, paid a visit and the report from them is due to be aired today – another great day for raising awareness and another wave of magic spread by the big orange boat! Many thanks to the NCYC,  HMRI, MS Australia and to our own Greg Pugh.

Oceans of Hope is now offshore, bound for the Southport Yacht Club just south of Brisbane  where more guests with MS will be taken out sailing early next week.
